The History of WGBS

In 1997, three churches in Mexico City determined that if they worked together, they could establish a Training Center to equip their leadership and serve the Evangelical Christian Community.

After finding the help of Grace Community Church -where Pastor John MacArthur serves as Pastor/Teacher and Pastor/Teacher of Spanish Ministries- in 1999 Word of Grace Biblical Seminary was founded under the name Word of Grace Biblical Institute.

Grace Community Church then sent missionaries from The Master's Seminary to teach and train students at WGBS.

WGBS functions with the help of The Master's Academy International (TMAI). This organization exists to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ by serving and helping Training Centers all around the world.

They understand that other countries, as well as Mexico, are in need of national pastors to be trained in expository preaching in order to spiritually lead their flocks with profound and biblical instruction.

For this reason they emphasize the spiritual health and ministerial effectiveness of the local church, which depends on their leadership in the establishment of the truth of Scriptures.

The primary purpose of TMAI is to prepare leaders of local churches in the context of their own country and culture, with the goal that these training centers be completely led by national leaders.

In order to sustain and expand their ministry, TMAI provides opportunities to individual, churches, and christian organizations to participate in the training centers.
